A Google account has a wealth of useful information, particularly when it comes to the Chrome browser. Bookmarks, browser tab sync, browsing history, account logins, and much more are all included. If you’re using someone else’s Chrome browser, you’ll probably want to know how to delete a Google account from Chrome once you’re done.

To delete a Google account from Chrome, go to the top-right corner of your browser and click on your account profile image. Click the Settings cog at the bottom of the profile box when it appears. When your account appears in a larger window, click the three vertical dots next to it and select Delete.

First, create or switch to a new Google account

If you just have one Google account associated with the Chrome browser, it’s a good idea to create a second one first. Alternatively, if you already have a second one, use Chrome to switch to it before removing anything else.

To begin, you must first create a new Google account (if you do not already have one), which is simple and takes only a few minutes. Go to your Chrome browser and click on your profile photo in the top right-hand corner once you’ve created your brand-new account. A popup will open, displaying your signed-in browser profile. At the bottom of the page, click Add.

Selecting Add brings up a new box to sign in to your other Google account.

You’ll be asked if you want to set up browser sync after you’ve signed in. Choose what you want.

Chrome will now open in a new window with your new Google account. This implies that all of your surfing histories from your previous account are gone. Customize your new browser account with a name and a color (if you want to), then click Done.

If you now go back to your profile picker window by clicking on your profile picture, you’ll see that both accounts are there. The one you just signed into, as well as the original account.

Let’s delete the old account now that you’ve signed in to the new one.

How to remove a Google account from Chrome (iOS and Android)

In the top right-hand corner, tap on your profile image.

At the top is the account you are currently signed into regarding browser bookmarks, browser-sync, browsing history, and passwords. Tap on that.

Tap Sign Out at the bottom to sign out of all the accounts associated with your phone. Tap the one you want to sign out of if you only want to sign out of one.

The account will be deleted if you tap Remove account from this device. Return to the previous screen and select the account you want to explore under. To create a new account, tap Add Account.

How to remove a Google account from Chrome (desktop)

Your profile box will drop down when you click on your Chrome profile photo in the top right-hand corner. At the bottom, on the right, select the Settings cog.

Both of your signed-in accounts will now appear in the next box. Choose Delete from the three vertical dots on the right of the one you wish to remove.
